Risch Applauds Senate Consent to Ratify Tax Treaties

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement regarding Senate consent to ratify four bilateral tax protocols:

“I could not be more pleased that the Senate came together today with such an overwhelming majority to approve the four tax protocols between the U.S. and Spain, Switzerland, Japan, and Luxembourg, respectively,” said Risch. “After nearly nine years of unnecessary delays that cost US taxpayers and employers millions and millions of dollars, we can finally do our part to ratify these treaties with our friends and allies. These treaties create great certainty for Americans working or conducting business abroad, as well as for the business community. I am grateful to Leader McConnell for getting these to the floor in an expeditious manner, and to my colleagues for their broad support.”
