Corker: Unsustainable Debt A Strategic Threat to U.S. Security
U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, convened a hearing to examine the strategic implications for the United States from mounting national debt. As interest on the debt and spending on Social Security and Medicare increasingly crowd out available resources for other priorities, the U.S. will face difficult choices in order to maintain economic growth, secure the country, and defend American interests around the world.
