Risch Statement on Committee Passage of Six Trump Nominees

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) today issued the following statement after members approved the nomination of  Allison Hooker for Under Secretary for Political Affairs, Sarah Rogers for Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy, Thomas DiNanno for Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, Nicole McGraw for ambassador to Croatia, and Brian Burch for ambassador to the Holy See.

“Today, my colleagues and I approved the nomination of six of President Trump’s nominees. Our State Department is undergoing some much-needed change, and I know that these nominees will help President Trump and Secretary Rubio meet the challenges that we face today.

“From managing important diplomatic missions around the world, to working with the newly elected Pope, to protecting Americans and our national security interests abroad, these nominees are sorely needed to help make American safe and more prosperous.

“I hope my colleagues on both sides of the aisle will give President Trump and Secretary Rubio the help they need and support their confirmation on the Senate floor.”

In total, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has approved 21 of President Trump’s nominees this year.
