Risch on Committee Passage of 5 Additional Trump Nominees, 48 in Total

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the statement below after the Committee passed the nominations of Anjani Sinha for ambassador to Singapore; Jeffrey Bartos for representative to the United Nations for Management and Reform; Lynda Blanchard for representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture; Kimberly Guilfoyle for ambassador to Greece; and Jennifer Locetta for representative for Special Political Affairs in the United Nations.

“After years of weak representation on the world stage, President Trump is working to compile a team that will help reform the corruption at the United Nations and promote American values abroad. These nominees will be part of that effort.

"The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has now passed 48 nominees, and we will continue this quick work to ensure President Trump and Secretary Rubio have the staff they need to remake American foreign policy for the better. Every president deserves the right to select his team. My committee has worked to move nominations as efficiently as possible to get those roles filled, and unfortunately many Democrats are choosing to let their political issues with the president get in the way of staffing our embassies abroad.””
