Chair Cardin Statement on the Tragic Deaths of World Central Kitchen Aid Workers in Gaza

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, issued a statement following the deaths of World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza:

“Myrna and I extend our deepest condolences to the families, colleagues, and communities of the World Central Kitchen aid workers who lost their lives providing critical humanitarian assistance to innocent civilians in Gaza. Their loss is a stark reminder of the risks involved in delivering lifesaving aid in combat environments, and the international community’s responsibility to prioritize their safety and ability to help those who need it most. I echo Secretary of State Blinken’s call for a swift, thorough, and impartial investigation.

“In this moment of sorrow, let us honor their memory by doubling our efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to those in Gaza. May their legacy inspire all of us to help those in need.”
