WASHINGTON – From Monday, June 23 to Wednesday, June 25, 2025, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and co-Chair of the Senate NATO Observer Group, and Thom Tillis (R-NC), co-Chair of the Senate NATO Observer Group, will lead a bipartisan delegation with Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) to the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, Netherlands. While in The Hague, the delegation will meet with foreign leaders and participate in public events.
During the trip, the Senators will underscore the strong bipartisan support in Congress for NATO and the transatlantic Alliance. The delegation will reaffirm the importance of continued transatlantic cooperation to contain and deter Russian aggression, including through a U.S. presence in the eastern flank of the Alliance. The Senators will reiterate their commitment to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and strengthen collective defense. They will also emphasize Congress’s commitment to NATO’s Article 5, including the defense of every inch of the Alliance’s territory, and the strategic interest in maintaining U.S. leadership within the Alliance.
