Risch, McCaul, Green Condemn Car Bombing Against American Military Personnel and Colombian National Army

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Jim Risch (R-Idaho), House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul (R-Texas), and House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, Migration, and International Economic Policy Ranking Member Mark Green (R-Tenn.) released the following statement following the car bombing attack in Cúcuta, Colombia.

“We strongly condemn yesterday’s car bombing attack against the Colombian National Army and American military personnel in Cúcuta, Colombia. We are thankful no one was fatally injured. This is a stark reminder of the need to stand unequivocally with our Colombian allies. The U.S. must remain committed to helping the Colombian government dismantle transnational criminal organizations and combat both Foreign Terrorist Organizations and illegally armed groups operating in the region, particularly those destabilizing Colombia’s border.”
